Here at Borderline Farms our goal is to provide you and your family a superior meat product. Know where your meat comes from and how it’s been raised!
John has always had a passion for livestock. He grew up raising Hampshire hogs and Polled Hereford cattle on a small farm in Josephville, MO. My family raised hogs and row crops on a small farm near Mineola, MO. We met in 1992, I was 17 and he was 20, and married in 1995. We bought a farm outside Auxvasse, MO with a falling down house and not much else and started our cattle herd. Oh the stories we could tell about those first few yeas! Now we are blessed raising 3 boys; Mason 16, Layne 14 and Cooper 12 and there’s never a dull moment!
We raise purebred Berkshire hogs. This bred is known the world round for their meat quality and flavor. If you’ve never eaten pasture raised Berkshire pork….you’re in for a treat! We rotate our butcher hogs on pasture while feeding them locally sourced free choice grain. Never fed antibiotics or hormones , meat our family is proud of.
Our cow herd consists of mostly Red Angus cattle. We have about 150 momma cows. We chose Red Angus for their carcass quality and maternal traits. Our pasture raised beef have access to grass/legume pasture and are hand fed locally sourced grain on a daily basis. As with our pork, the beef we sell for meat has never been given antibiotics or hormones!
If we can ever answer any questions or if you’d like to come out to the farm and see just how happy our animals are, please contact us.
Thanks for visiting....may all your pork chops be juicy!
